NewsPress Release

London, Monday 4 th January 2016

The Publishers Association has appointed Stephen Lotinga as its new Chief Executive.

Lotinga is a communications specialist with experience in government, business and the public sector and replaces Richard Mollet, who leaves the Association to take up a role within the Relx Group.  He joins The PA from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman but was, until May 2015, Director of Communications to the Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg. Before that he spent a number of years working in public affairs within large agencies.

Commenting on his appointment, PA President Joanna Prior, said: “Stephen’s communications skills, combined with his inside track on the workings of government will make him an effective advocate for our industry. He has a keen interest in our industry but at the same time will bring an outsider’s fresh perspective to our issues.  I am delighted to welcome him to The PA and know he will, along with our existing excellent senior team, successfully steer our Association in the coming years”.

Stephen Lotinga said:  “It’s a great honour to be appointed as the new Chief Executive of The Publishers Association at a time when it’s in such good health. I very much look forward to building on that success for the benefit of our members and the whole industry. The Publishers Association has a vital role to play informing political and public debates on issues affecting the Industry. I can’t wait to start work with my new colleagues to make sure our voice continues to be heard.”

Stephen will take up the post on Monday 18th January 2016.
