In response to the placement of the 500th Creative Access intern, PA Chief Executive, Stephen Lotinga commented:

“Congratulations to Creative Access on placing their 500th intern. Publishing is delighted to have played a part in increasing job opportunities in the creative industries for those from BAME backgrounds.  Nearly 90 interns have now had internships within publishing companies, and at The PA itself.  Out of those who completed the programme 96% have gone on to find permanent work within the industry.”

The PA recognises that publishing needs to reflect the composition and interests of society as a whole to ensure that it remains an accessible and culturally enriching industry. We work very closely with Creative Access to provide opportunities for paid internships in publishing for young people of graduate (or equivalent standard) from BAME backgrounds. We will continue to work with Creative Access to facilitate the growth and progression of a diverse and successful workforce.
