A major opportunity to join Pan Macmillan and work on one of our most important UK accounts. We have two roles available: 1) Waterstones 2) WHSmith/Travel

Your team:
You will work within the UK Sales London-based team to work on some of the biggest author brands in the UK with UK retailers. You will work across all of Pan Macmillan’s imprints across Children’s and Adult publishing.

Your role:
Each Account Manager will be responsible for one account and will work closely with the relevant Head of Sales. This role requires excellent attention to detail, drive and energy and, most importantly, a passion for our books and a love of selling.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Driving sales to ensure annual budgets and growth targets are delivered

  • Presenting key titles and ensuring all relevant titles are supported

  • Working with buyers to ensure successful launches and campaigns on some of the biggest authors in the UK

  • Reporting and analysing sales

  • Managing stock and profit

  • Supporting on author brand strategies

  • Supporting on exclusive editions and events where relevant

  • You will be working across Children’s and Adult titles and imprints including Picador, Pan, Tor, Bluebird and Macmillan Children’s Books.

Essential experience and knowledge you’ll need to succeed:

  • Experience in Sales and managing retailer accounts in the UK

  • Attention to detail

  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Able to multitask and work under tight deadlines

  • Numeracy skills

  • Problem solving

  • Strong and effective communication skills

  • Ideally experience working for a publisher in Sales

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience of managing complicated processes and spreadsheets

  • Good Excel skills.

Desirable skills we’d love you to have:

  • A love of detail and making processes work effectively and efficiently

  • Experience in putting the customer first

  • A passion for reading and high-street bookselling

  • Have used or are familiar with Google for Work (Gmail/Google applications)
