The National Literacy Trust has worked with World Book Day to create a whole range of free primary resources including lesson plans, activity sheets, discussion guides and more, to help schools really make the most of the day. You can download these here: https://literacytrust.org.uk/resources/world-book-day-2018/.
We’ll also be celebrating the day with lots of activity across our National Literacy Trust Hubs and programmes. Each of our Hubs and regional campaigns will receive 100 extra £1 book tokens from World Book Day, which will be shared with local children through our network of partners to ensure they reach those most in need. In Bradford, the tokens will be distributed through Literacy Champions, while in Middlesbrough and the North East we'll work with NEPACS to give extra tokens to children whose parents are in prison.
Football clubs across the country will be hosting World Book Day events as part of our sport and literacy work, including author events and pop-up bookshops at clubs including Crawley Town and Derby County. Plus, lots of our corporate partners will be holding fundraising events in stores and offices to raise money for our work.
