DK encourages staff to Share A Story for World Book Day

DK is extremely proud to have a book in the World Book Day £1 collection: Marvel Avengers: The Greatest Heroes and to be supporting World Book Day Share a Story with all our staff.

DK is promoting the World Book Day Share a Story campaign on the global intranet and in the weekly newsletter, encouraging staff to spread the word about reading with a child for 10 minutes a day. A bespoke World Book Day newsletter will also be sent to DK staff in the UK on Wednesday 28th February, reminding them all that there is one day to go and join in the campaign!

DK is promoting the campaign and running a competition on the intranet, where staff can win copies of DK’s World Book Day title, Marvel Avengers: The Greatest Heroes, along with copies of Marvel Avengers: The Ultimate Guide, to read with their children. In the run-up to the big day, the DK office has been decorated with posters to promote World Book Day to encourage everyone to get involved.

On the day itself, staff will arrive in the office to find a Marvel World Book Day bookmark on their desks. There will also be a cake with the book jacket on to celebrate the special day!

Staff will be going to Oasis Academy Johanna Primary School, Waterloo, a school where DK already has a volunteer reading programme in place for staff, and then to Orleans Primary School, Twickenham, later in the day, for action-packed World Book Day events with the two DK authors, who will be reading to pupils and promoting a love of reading.
