Stephen Lotinga

Stephen Lotinga is Chief Executive of the Publishers Association, joining in January 2016.

His career spans the private and public sectors including recently in government as Director of Communications to the former Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg MP.

Previously Stephen has worked as Executive Director of External Affairs and Strategy at PHSO, Managing Director at Edelman, and Managing Director and Partner at Bell Pottinger.

Earlier in his career he worked for the Liberal Democrats as a Senior Policy Advisor, including leading the team of advisers in 2010 who successfully guided the Party into the first coalition government in half a century. Before that he worked as DCMS Policy Adviser to Lord Foster of Bath where he was originally introduced to the world of publishing, intellectual property and the wider creative industries.

Emma House

Emma House is Deputy Chief Executive for the Publishers Association, joining after 7 years experience as Head of International Development at The London Book Fair and 6 years experience in international business to business magazine publishing. Emma heads up the international anti-piracy campaigns on behalf of PA members, as well as monitors and lobbies for secure market conditions in key export territories. Emma works closely with bodies such as UK Trade & Investment and the British Council to find export opportunities for UK publishers and promote the UK publishing industry in overseas markets. For trade publishers, working closely with our members on issues which affect the industry as well as promoting books and reading are top priorities.

Mark Wharton

Mark Wharton is the Director of Operations for The Publishers Association joining early 2008 following three years as Operations Manager at The Professional Contractors Group (PCG), a trade body for freelance workers.

Mark spent close to 20 year's in the finance sector working for Barclays Bank PLC, with his last role as a relationship manager for high net worth individuals.

His role at the PA encompasses many functions including finances, membership, marketing and communications, product development, premises and HR.
