Lis Tribe (President)

Lis Tribe is Group Managing Director of Hodder Education, a division of Hachette UK.   Hodder Education is one of the top three providers of curriculum materials to the education market in the UK, and is a market leader in International schools publishing.  As well as content, Hodder Education provides a growing range of products and services to teachers and students, including revision, assessment, and professional development.  The business includes Rising Stars and Galore Park, publishers for primary and independent school markets, and is the winner of the Bookseller’s Educational Publisher of the Year Award in 2015 and 2016.

 Lis started her career at Routledge, now part of Taylor and Francis, working in the social sciences editorial team.  She has worked at Hodder Education for 23 years, publishing a variety of subjects and levels before becoming publishing director and then MD.

Charlie Redmayne (Vice President)

Charlie Redmayne has served as CEO of HarperCollins UK since 2013.  HarperCollins is the second largest publisher in the world and in the UK publishes authors including David Walliams, Hilary Mantel, Bernard Cornwell, Wilbur Smith, Patricia Cornwell and George RR Martin.  Redmayne first joined HarperCollins as Group Digital Director in 2008, he was promoted to Chief Digital Officer, based in HarperCollins' head office in New York and left in 2011 to set up Pottermore, JK Rowling's digital publishing business.

A the Start of his career Redmayne served for four years as a lieutenant in the Irish Guards.  He founded and rand the media buying company RCL Communications and entertainment business Blink TV.  In 2000 Redmayne launched leading UK teen internet company Mykindsplace Ltd which he sold to BSkyB.  He went on to become Head of Commercial Partnerships for the Sky Online Business Unit at BSkyB and joined HarperCollins for the first time in 2008.

Stephen Barr (Past President)  

Stephen Barr is Managing Director of SAGE UK, President of SAGE International and Global Head of Sales.

As President, SAGE International, he is responsible for the growth of the UK, India and Singapore offices within the SAGE group.   As Global Head of Sales he also has global responsibility for sales and the Sales Departments for the SAGE businesses worldwide. Stephen is an Executive Vice-President of SAGE Inc in California and a director of SAGE India and SAGE Asia-Pacific. He joined SAGE UK in 1986 as senior commissioning editor, became Editorial Director in 1988 and Managing Director in 1996.   

Stephen began his publishing career with Europa Publications, the publisher of international reference works such as the Europa Year Book and the international Who’s Who.  He worked in the editorial department of Cambridge University Press from 1979 to 1983. From 1983 to 1986 he was a commissioning editor at the Open University Press, building a new publishing programme in the social sciences. 

Stephen is a member of the board of the Academic and Professional Division of the Publishers Association (PA) and sits on the PA Council.   He has been a visiting professor in the publishing department at Beijing Normal University and is a member of the industry panels at the University of the Arts and City University in the UK.  He is also chair of the board of trustees of the Phoenix Cinema in north London.
