Beijing International Book Fair 2010

30 Aug - 03 Sep 2010

China has one of the largest book publishing outputs in the world, producing 248,283 titles in 2007.  In that same year, China licensed 10,255 titles from foreign publishers (UK titles accounted for nearly 20% of these and the UK accounted for 30% of translated titles by value sold in the market).  UK exports to China increased rapidly in the early 2000s, peaking at £13.9m in 2006, but dipped to £10.9m 2007.

BIBF, is the largest international book in the region and attracts large groups from the UK, USA, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Korea and Japan.  The Publishers Association, in association with The London Book Fair, is organising a group at this fair as part of the UK Publishing programme.  Details and prices can be found here.

Beijing International Book Fair 2009
BIBF returned to the China International Exhibition Centre, after being held in Tianjin in 2008 due to the Olympics.  The fair was slightly smaller than previous year, due to the current financial climate, but those companies who did attend reported having a very good fair despite this.  The UK Publishing group included publishers, literary agents and packagers, as well as representatives from The London Book Fair and the PA.  About 150 people attended the annual reception, hosted by UK Trade & Investment, The Publishers Association and The London Book Fair,
